What is
the
Lawman 1000?
The
Lawman 1000 is an annual
motorcycle ride to raise funds for charity. The ride begins between
4 and 6 am on the fourth Saturday in June. Riders are provided the
route to the host city at check-in the morning of the ride. They
leave check-in at their own time and ride at their own pace. There
is a checkpoint on the route to qualify for the grand prize drawing.
The distance traveled is approximately 450 to 500 miles one way. At
the completion of the ride on Saturday evening there is a no host
bar, a buffet style dinner, an award presentation, door prizes, a
50/50 drawing and a grand prize drawing. There is usually an auction
or raffle for the charity. The charity makes a brief presentation.
Riders are on their own following the presentations.
What is the
destination of the ride?
The destination of the ride changes each year
although some destinations are repeated from time to time.
Destinations in the recent past have included Whistler & Penticton
B.C., Bend Or., Spokane Wa., Yakima Wa., Tri-Cities Wa., Pendleton,
Or., Seaside, OR , Kamloops BC as well as other locations.
Where does the
ride begin?
The ride begins at The Commons (Sea-Tac Mall) by
Starbuck's in Federal Way.
Who can ride?
The ride is open to all motorcycle riders and their
passengers. There are awards for the oldest rider & passenger,
youngest rider & passenger, smallest c.c. motorcycle.
When and how can
I register for the ride?
Registration forms are available on line after
01-02-2008, or e-mail us and we will mail one out. (They are usually
available in early February.) Just click on "registration". Pledge
sheets also available on line. Mail the registration form to the
address below. Registration can also be done online through the
website. Click on the "Register" button at the top of our web pages.
Online registrations are through Paypal. We encourage
pre-registration.
How much does it
cost?
Pre-Registration is $35.00 per rider or passenger,
$45.00 on day of ride. Registration pays for dinner and other
expenses.
